Obituary for Kiriaki Tsimenidis
Kiriaki Tsimenidis (nee Xanthopolous), age 77, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018 in Toronto surrounded by her family. Kiriaki is predeceased by her loving husband Christos. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws - Tom (Carolyn), Apostolos (Maria) and George (Maria) and her cherished grandchildren - Sarah, Christian, Anthony and Nickolas. Kiriaki was the daughter of Anastasia and Apostolos Xanthopolous and sister to Yianni and her predeceased siblings - Nickolas, Kosta, Savvas, Giorgos and Sophia. She was a proud Aunt to many nieces and nephews and a loving sister and sister-in-law.
Kiriaki was born in Dipotamos, Greece and immigrated to Toronto in 1961, where she and her husband raised their family. She was very grateful for the opportunities Canada provided. Kiriaki was devoted to her family – always cooking and baking. She enjoyed her garden, crocheting and attending church. Kiriaki and Christos were fortunate to travel to many places and often returned to Greece in the summer for vacations.
Kiriaki touched the lives of many people and will be remembered for her caring and affection as a “second” mom/yiayia, and a loyal friend to many.
The family is grateful for the care and support provided by all of the staff at the Toronto General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Toronto General Hospital is appreciated.
