Obituary for Lynn Elizabeth McMillan

Lynn Elizabeth McMillan
After fighting for 21 months with a brain tumor, Lynn lost her battle April 24th with her family around.
Born in Toronto, Lynn spent the early years of her life in Winnipeg, mov-ing back to Mississauga at the age of 10. Lynn attended Erindale Sec-ondary School and it was here she developed a keen interest in sports, which she pursued throughout her life. After studying at McMaster, she started her nearly 30 year career in management at the TD Bank.
Lynn was the youngest of three children born to the late Joseph McMil-lan and wife Eleanor McMillan and was the beloved wife of husband John van Oostwaard. Lynn will be forever remembered by her brother Mike (Brenda) and sister Sandy (Rod) and held a special bond with her nieces and nephew Heather (Lyndon), Laura (Jason), Eric, Jennifer (Justin) and great nieces and nephews Estelle, Mabel, Walter, Scarlette, Leo, Amelia and Ian. Loved by cousins Barb, Nancy (Chuck), Stephanie, Shannon, Liz (Don) along with countless other friends and family.
Although Lynn’s career was in Toronto, her heart was at the family cot-tage in Red Bay where she loved spending time with her family and friends. When not swimming, kayaking, water skiing, biking or golfing, Lynn loved nothing more than downhill skiing, which she did all over North America and Europe. She channeled this passion into teaching others to ski at the High Park Ski club, where many of her long time friendships began.
Lynn touched many people with her winning smile and passion for life. She will be dearly missed by many.

Memorial visitation to take place at St. John’s Dixie Visitation Centre (737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5) Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 pm.
