Obituary for Denta Arlene Kalmbach

Denta Arlene (Hurley) Kalmbach (February 22,1932 - April 18, 2018) was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and grew up in the Echo Bay area predeceased by her parents Ruby and Bertram Hurley. Survived by Bert (Fran) Hurley, Dorothy (Lionel) Hatten, predeceased by Harold (Etta) Hurley. She taught school for a period of time and briefly worked at a bank. She met and married Erich Kalmbach who had recently immigrated to Canada from Germany. Denta was a loving mother to five children; Eric (Elaine) Kalmbach, Kenneth Kalmbach, Arlene Kalmbach-Pashka, John (Anna) Kalmbach, Karen Kalmbach. She was the grandmother of Jason (Melissa), David (Katherine), Adam (Anya), Aaron and Emily (Uriel). She first became a great-grandmother nine years ago and as of today has eight great grandchildren: Amie, Ashley, Serena, Cara, Meredith, Nathanael, Aaron Eli, and Noah.

Denta was artistic and loved to sketch, had a great imagination, which made her a natural storyteller. She always connected immediately with children and gained their trust.

On Wednesday, the 18thof April 2018 Denta spoke to those attending her and told them “I’m going now.” Shortly thereafter she left earth and entered the presence of Jesus in whom she had trusted for eternal life many years ago. We look forward to reuniting with her some day!
