I had the pleasure of meeting John for the first time when I was just a kid. My father got his hair cut at John’s shop, so naturally I got my very first hair cut there as well. I have 3 brothers, so John actually did the hair cuts for my older 2 brothers, while Henry would cut mine and my younger brothers. My father always spoke highly of John, and it seemed they developed a friendship that went beyond the usual barber-client relationship. Whenever my family had an important occasion, we always counted on John (and Henry) to help us look and feel our best. John always took the time to ask us about our lives and he always did his best to make us laugh as well. My nephews also both got their first hair cuts done by John, and I cherish those memories. I always looked forward to seeing him and I always knew he wouldn’t let me leave his shop until I promised I would tell my mother that he sends his regards. I respected John and I enjoyed John’s company so I would just like to send my most sincere condolences to the family.
