Jean Vokey

Always loving, always loved.
Jean passed away peacefully in her sleep at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Saturday Oct 27th. She was in her 94th year.
Jean was married to the late Gordon Vokey for over 68 years and is survived by her daughters Marylou Marshall and Elizabeth Atkinson and her son Norm Vokey. She was Grandmother to 6 grand children and 7 great grand children, she will be sorely missed.
She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on April 3, 1925. She moved to Montreal as a young child and met Gordon in 1945. They married on September 4, 1948. In 1970 they moved to Toronto and although always a mother first, Jean joined Reitman’s as a part time sales clerk and became Miss Kneehigh for her sales prowess.
Jean kept in close touch with her sisters from Montreal and Florida and her brother who in later years was in Toronto. She thoroughly enjoyed her relationship with her friends that moved from Montreal when she did, their friendship stretching over 50 years.
She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed but has now been reunited with Gordon, the love of her life.
Donations to St. Mathews the Apostle Oriole Anglican church at 80 George Henry Blvd., North York, ON, M2J 1E7 in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
