Obituary for Peninah Dixon

The ascension of Peninah “Penny” Dixon took place on Sunday September 9th/2018. At Markham Stouffville Hospital at 11:50a. Peacefully she moved on to be accepted by her blessed God and put herself in a position to guide her beloved family and friends from a far. Though she has left us in the flesh, her soul and her legacy remains immortal. Born in Jericho in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica Penny gained sponsorship to Toronto, Canada and made sure she made the most of her opportunity. Always a devoted and loyal Christian and church goer she went to school to quickly become a nurse. Penny always had it in her to be that helping hand. Employed by Sunnybrook hospital for close to 30 years, Penny and her husband advanced her family from West Toronto, to Thornhill, to North York, and then to Markham. Never satisfied and always striving for excellence. A trend setter amongst friends and an example of clean living. Responsible for sponsoring several family members to Canada to further themselves and build a stronger foundation for generations to come. Always there for you in your time of need she was an angel walking our earth. We were truly blessed to come to feel the essence of such a strong, solid, loving, and loyal person in our lifetime. She is survived by her husband Neville Dixon, her sister Guida, her son Dave Dixon and daughter in law Camille, her daughters Dianne and Cheryl, Grandchildren A’kaysha(KK), Jefferson, Lavarr, and Aziana-Reign(Azy), and great granddaughter Aliyah(Leelee). All of whom she loved and adored. Viewing will be held on Friday September 28th 2018 from 5-9 pm at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home(4 lights North of of highway 7). We then invite you to celebrate the life of Penny with us also at Chapel Ridge on Saturday September 29th commencing 10:30am.
