Elizabeth Marion Lee (Libby) Brodie
July 3, 1935, St. Kitts, BWI – April 22, 2018, Unionville, Ontario
Libby passed away peacefully in Amica at Unionville.
She was the daughter of Rev. James and Marion Lee MacDonald Brodie.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Dunn, Mission, BC, her niece Sarah, and nephew Jonathan.
Libby graduated from UBC in Vancouver in 1956, then joined the Sisters of St. John the Divine. She served as Hospital Administrator at St. John’s Convalescent Hospital, Willowdale. After leaving the Sisters, she taught in elementary schools (Finch and Cresthaven) until her retirement.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, playing her guitar, and was a keen watercolour artist. An avid golfer, she volunteered on the Golf Rules Committee for many years, doing course ratings, and Rules at tournaments. She also volunteered at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Unionville, where she was a faithful member for many years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St.Philip's Anglican Church, 9400 Kennedy Road, Unionville, on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at St. Philip's Cemetery adjacent.
Her family and friends etc. would like to thank the wonderful staff at Amica, Unionville (The Marleigh) for their kind and excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to St.Philip's Anglican or Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto.
